Here at Online Marketing Muscle we are not only celebrating the independence of our great country, but also reflecting on how grateful we are to have the opportunity to live in a country where we have the freedom to choose how we live our lives.  Choosing the path of entrepreneurship has its risks and there is never a guarantee that everything will work out the way it was planned, but we wouldn’t have it any other way!  And we know that all of you who have made the choice to strive for that ultimate goal of obtaining a lifestyle of freedom and independence know this.  So celebrate your accomplishments this weekend and enjoy yourself!  Happy Independence Day!

Don’t Put All Your Eggs in One Basket

Eggs in One BasketYou know the old saying “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket!” and when it comes to marketing your business, it’s no different!  So what does this mean as it refers to your business marketing?  It means that you shouldn’t dedicate all of your resources and effort into one marketing tactic and expect that you will get the same results indefinitely.  This is setting your business up for failure.

For example, if the only tactic you use to get business is to make sales calls and suddenly that doesn’t seem to be working for you anymore what do you do now?  If there is nothing else going on to support your marketing strategy, your business will quickly dry up.  It is far better to have a few good strategies and focus on those intently until they don’t work for you anymore.  If you find that something no longer is bringing in the results, then you can always add another piece to your marketing strategy and in the meantime you have several other tactics still working for you.

We typically recommend for most businesses that you do some online as well as offline marketing.  Some examples of online marketing would be blogging, social media marketing, websites and pay per click advertising.  Some examples of offline marketing would be print advertising, networking, and direct mail (postcards, flyers).  Obviously, depending on what type of business you are have will dictate what type of marketing is best for your business.  So while you are enjoying the Easter egg hunts, think about how you might be able to add a few new tactics to your marketing.  If you need some assistance, please call us here at Online Marketing Muscle, that’s what we do!Happy Easter from Online Marketing Muscle

What a Kid Can Teach You About Customer Service

Posted on by Andrea Mercado in Coaching, Success 5 Comments

There are examples of great customer service all around us.  TodaCustomer Service Experty as I looked out at the accumulating snow I began putting on my hat, gloves, boots, and coat.  A knock came to the door and 2 enterprising young men asked if we would like to have our snow shoveled.  So for a fair price they began taking care of the job we were dreading!

A tip we often give our coaching clients is to deliver more than is expected.  For example, if you are working at someone’s house and you see the paper in the driveway, how much time does it take you to pick it up and bring it up to the front porch?  Two seconds!  One of the young men rang the doorbell and handed us our paper that he found under the snow as he was shoveling.  These kids get it.  Why don’t business owners and service providers get it?  Take a lesson from a kid, do that little bit extra and you will thrill your clients and customers and they won’t want anyone but you to serve them.

By the way, they did an excellent job. We had 2 feet of snow in the driveway.  Tonight my back is grateful!
